Entitlements and Financial Aid
There are a range of entitlements and financial aid available.
Anyone who has undergone breast surgery in a public hospital, lives in the Southern HSE region and who requires a Breast Form is entitled to 2 bras each year and a Breast Form every two years – if necessary. If you have had your surgery in a private hospital and go on to receive a Medical card you will have the same entitlements.
For anyone outside of the Southern HSE area with a medical card you can send a prescription along with your medical card details and we can make an application to the H.S.E. on your behalf. This process can take up to a few weeks so if you have a special occasion for which you need that special bra, please leave ample time to order. Alternatively we can accept payment and then refund you on receipt of the H.S.E. order. Sometimes your yearly two bra allowance just isn’t enough – you can also buy any of our bras if you wish.
Most private health insurers give some level of cover towards the cost of your Breast Care products.
The amount of cover depends on your insurer and on the policy that you have. If you should wish to buy any of our products we can provide you with a receipt which can be submitted to your health insurance company or can be used to claim back on your tax returns using the Med 1 Form. Both The Irish Cancer Society and The Marie Keating Foundation have a fund to assist those who have been diagnosed with cancer and who may be having financial difficulty.
